What is Hipcamp?

If you’re like many RV enthusiasts, you’re always looking for ways to spend time outside, make memories with family and friends, and escape the daily grind. With the rising popularity of RVing, more people than ever are seeking unique, affordable places to camp and connect with nature. Enter Hipcamp, a company helping RVers find those perfect spots to park their homes on wheels, especially when public campsites are hard to come by.

Hipcamp has been around since 2013. It aggregates listings of campsites, both public and private, and makes them accessible to campers who enjoy RVing, tent camping, glamping and more. For this reason, it’s often dubbed the Airbnb of the outdoors!

How Does it Work?

Hipcamp can link you to campsites in a range of locations, from farms and wineries to backyards and public parks. All you have to do is download the Hipcamp app or visit their website to start your search. The easiest and fastest way to get started is to select “RV parks near me” and browse through the available properties.

When you click on a property, you’ll get a wealth of useful details, such as:

  • The number of RV sites available
  • Availability of hookups
  • Types of RVs that can be accommodated
  • Amenities such as WiFi, potable water, and showers
  • Accessibility features like ADA compliance
  • Restrictions like no pets or campfires
  • Activities you can enjoy on the property
  • Check-in and check-out policies
  • Cancellation policies

You can also view photos, read reviews from other campers, and message the host with any questions.

Ready to book? You can then use the on-page widget to enter your preferred check-in and check-out dates and number of guests to check availability for the location. If the spot is available, then you can request to reserve the spac. It’s that simple!

How Much Does it Cost?

The cost of a Hipcamp site varies based on the type of site (tent sites usually cost less than glamping sites), but RV sites typically start around $10 or $20 per night and can go up from there. These prices make Hipcamp an affordable option for RVers looking to experience the outdoors and have unique camping experiences.
